I am a butcher by trade, but the grill is not only for meat. At every table there is someone who prefers fish, does not eat red meat or simply wants something lighter. For them we have the seafood grill: fish and seafood over the coals, with the same care we give our cuts. Here is what it includes, what to order and where to find it.
Where to find the seafood grill
The seafood grill is served at two of our three locations: Matará, in the Historic Center (Calle Matará 446-B, a few minutes’ walk from the Plaza de Armas), and Ttio, on Calle Manuel Gonzales Prada R-02. Collasuyo, on the other hand, is our rotisserie chicken location. All three are open Monday to Saturday from 12:00 to 21:30 and Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00.
The Seafood Grill Platter for two
The Seafood Grill Platter (S/.119, for two) brings the best of the sea together: perico (mahi-mahi), tuna, prawns and octopus, served with Andean potatoes and crispy yuca. It is the way to try everything and share.
The fish and seafood, one by one
If you prefer your own plate, every dish comes with the side of your choice:
| Dish | What it is like | Portion and price |
|---|---|---|
| Mahi-Mahi Fillet | White, firm flesh with a mild flavor | 240 g · S/.37 |
| Grilled Trout | Andean trout, delicate and light | 250 g · S/.38 |
| Tuna Fillet | Red, firm flesh, the “meatiest” from the sea | 240 g · S/.40 |
| Grilled Octopus | Tender, with a smoky touch from the coals | 300 g · S/.48 |
| Salmon Fillet | Juicy and full of flavor | 250 g · S/.49 |
Perico is the fish known elsewhere as mahi-mahi or dorado.

How to order it just right
- Tuna: like a good steak, it is best seared outside and juicy in the center. Overcooked, it dries out.
- White fish and trout: cooked just through, so the flesh flakes and stays moist.
- Octopus and prawns: short time and high heat, so they stay tender with that grill flavor.
Mixed table: land and sea
What we see most at Matará and Ttio are mixed tables: some want meat, others fish. For four people, a Grill for Two (S/.89) plus a Seafood Grill Platter (S/.119) come to S/.208, about S/.52 per person, and everyone picks what they like. For larger groups, see which grill to order for your group.
And for the meat lovers, do not miss the Alpaca Loin (S/.47): for me, alpaca is the best meat you can eat in Cusco.
Seafood at all three locations
If you are at Collasuyo or fancy something from chifa cooking, all three locations serve the Prawn Chaufa (S/.39), the Trout Chaufa (S/.37) and the Fettuccine in Prawn Sauce (S/.39). To learn where chaufa and wok cooking come from, read the history of lomo saltado.

To drink, a lemonade, a passion fruit juice or a Cusqueña wheat beer go very well with fish. When dining in, main courses include our complimentary salad bar.
